La noche del domingo finalmente conocimos a los ganadores de los Óscar 2020 y para muchos, fue una noche de sopresas. Parásitos arrasó al llevarse cuatro de los seis premios por los que estaba nominada, mientras que The Irishman se fue con las manos vacías, a pesar de tener 10 nominaciones.
La velada estuvo dedicada a la música, desde un número de apertura con aquellas cintas ignoradas por la Academia, hasta la aparición sorpresa de Eminem. En cuanto a las actuaciones, no hubo sorpresas cuando Joaquin Phoenix y Renée Zellweger fueron nombrados como ganadores.
